-FACULTY OF SHIP NAVIGATION-

The faculty of “Ship Navigation” provides training in the maritime field on bachelor’s, masters and doctorate levels in the following specialties:

Bachelor:

  • Marine Navigation Engineering;
  • Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Engineering;

 Master:

  • Shipping and Ship Traffic Management;

Specialty: Ships Traffic Management

  • Marine Engineering and Technology;

Specialty: 1. Shipbuilding 

                  2. Ship repair

Doctorate:

  • Shipping and Exploitation of Water Transport;
  • Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Technology;

The term of study for a Bachelor’s degree in the full-time department is 4 years, whereas it is 2 years for the Master’s level.

 

The faculty includes 4 departments:

  • Marine Navigation
  • Shipbuilding and Ship Repair
  • Humanities
  • English language

5 professors, 10 associate professors, 24 senior lecturers, 9 teacher assistants, 2 heads of laboratory, 3 senior laboratory assistants and 1 skilled trainer, as well as highly-qualified specialists invited from shipbuilding and ship repair plants have been involved in teaching process in the department.

Since its establishment, the faculty has built the education system pursuant to the requirements of the International Convention  “On Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) of International Maritime Organization (IMO). Therefore, there have been prepared basic educational programs, curricula, as well as the state standards of education on all specialties and approved by the IMO, respectively.
